Please read these terms carefully before using TheSpaceLaunches. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Overview

TheSpaceLaunches ("we," "us," or "our") operates thespacelaunches.cn and provides a comprehensive database of global space launch activities, including launch schedules, vehicle specifications, launch site information, and related data (collectively, the "Service").

The Service includes a public-facing website and a developer API that allows registered users to access launch data programmatically. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

2. Account & Subscription

2.1 Account Registration

To access certain features of the Service, including the developer API, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

2.2 Subscription Plans

The Service offers the following subscription tiers:

  • Free Plan: Provides limited API access with usage quotas suitable for development and testing. Free accounts are subject to rate limits and may have restricted access to certain data fields.
  • Pro Plan: A paid subscription that provides higher API rate limits, increased usage quotas, webhook notifications, and access to premium data fields. Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as specified during checkout.

We reserve the right to modify subscription plans, pricing, and features at any time. Changes to pricing will not affect your current billing period but will apply to subsequent renewals.

2.3 Account Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if your account is inactive for an extended period.

3. API Access & Fair Use

3.1 API Keys

Registered users receive API keys to access the developer API. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys and for all requests made using your keys. You must not share, distribute, or expose your API keys to unauthorized parties.

3.2 Rate Limits & Quotas

The Service enforces rate limits and monthly usage quotas to ensure fair access for all users. Your account's rate limits and quotas are determined by your subscription plan. Attempting to exceed these limits or circumvent enforcement mechanisms is prohibited.

3.3 Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to build a competing product or service
  • Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract data from the public website in violation of rate limits
  • Redistribute API data in real-time to third parties without explicit authorization
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws
  • Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the Service's infrastructure
Important: Violation of these restrictions may result in immediate suspension of your API access and termination of your account without refund.

4. Intellectual Property

4.1 Ownership

The Service and its entire contents, features, and functionality (including but not limited to all information, software, text, displays, images, video, and audio, and the design, selection, and arrangement thereof) are owned by TheSpaceLaunches, its licensors, or other providers of such material and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.

4.2 Trademarks

The name TheSpaceLaunches, the TheSpaceLaunches logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of TheSpaceLaunches or its affiliates. You must not use such marks without the prior written permission of TheSpaceLaunches.

4.3 Data Attribution

Launch data, spacecraft information, and launch site details provided through the Service are compiled from public sources and proprietary databases. When using this data in your applications, you agree to provide appropriate attribution to TheSpaceLaunches as specified in our API documentation.

5. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

Without limiting the foregoing, TheSpaceLaunches does not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
  • Launch data, schedules, or any other information will be accurate, complete, or current
  • The Service will meet your requirements or expectations

Launch schedules and related data are subject to frequent changes by launch operators and space agencies. TheSpaceLaunches makes reasonable efforts to keep data current but cannot guarantee real-time accuracy. Delays, cancellations, and schedule changes are common in space launch operations.

The Service is intended for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon for mission-critical operations, safety decisions, or any purpose where inaccurate data could result in significant harm or liability.

6. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL THESPACELAUNCHES, ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • Your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service
  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service
  • Any content obtained from the Service
  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content

TheSpaceLaunches's total liability for any claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to TheSpaceLaunches during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or one hundred dollars ($100), whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

7. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Effective" date at the top.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
